    We are seeking candidates for a key position within this fast growth and strategic business for IDC Health Insights European practice:

    Senior Research Analyst

     

    The Analyst will be part of the Health Insights European team, which provides research-based advisory and consulting services to healthcare and life sciences companies, and information technology vendors serving those markets. The focus of this position is to provide insights on the use of information technology to support business innovation in the healthcare and life sciences markets through original and methodologically sound research. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, experienced, collaborative, but small team of healthcare analysts so must be a strong team player, with good listening skills coupled with critical thinking abilities, analytical skills – numerically and verbally – and curiosity relating to the dynamic developments in the health and IT markets.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    The primary responsibility of the analyst will be to:

    • Produce regular insightful and original content for the following dedicated research subscription services: "European Value Based Healthcare Digital Transformation" "European Digital Hospital" and "European Pharma and Life Sciences" (executing a European focused research following a defined agenda and publication schedule);
    • Play an active role in custom research and consultancy engagements, which are performed on behalf of a variety of clients and have an equally varied set of deliverables, including white papers, case studies and market analysis and sizing.;
    • Support his/her research with strong research methodologies. For example: in primary research, he/she will need to support (and with time to coordinate) international surveys, or direct  interviews with healthcare executives; in secondary research, he/she will be able to use different sources including, online databases, major international healthcare publications and public research institutions. The ideal candidate will be autonomously able to identify reliable sources of information, and assessing the quality of information collected, elaborate it in an original and professional manner
    • Respond to client enquiries related to technological and operational developments in European healthcare market;
    • Occasionally support his/her manager in sales & marketing campaigns in pursuit of new business opportunities;
    • Collaborate with colleagues in other business units on shared research publications or specific consulting projects;

    Qualifications

    The position calls for a highly motivated individual with at least 2 years of experience in digital health, healthcare, life sciences or ICT market research and/or consulting, with exceptional writing skills, and interests for research activity.  The candidate should be someone eager to build or further a career as an analyst, a quick and creative thinker, who is open to learn and to be coached in his/ her growth.

    Experience within an end user organization (e.g. a hospital a local healthcare organization, a health department, pharma, biotech, medical devices companies  etc.), or within an ICT company dealing with healthcare organizations and the life sciences sector (in particular in the market intelligence and marketing department) will be highly appreciated.

    The ideal candidate is:

    • Team player, positive, curious and able to solve problems creatively.
    • Capable of working within an international virtual team, so able to listen attentively and used to proactively ask for feedback
    • Excellent time-management and communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Capable of comprehending complex data and information and re-elaborate them in a clear and structured way
    • Interested in ICT market trends, digital healthcare and healthcare and life sciences industry innovation: including for example themes as the  impact of technologies as cloud, big data and analytics, mobile, social media, wearables and IoT technologies in healthcare and the public sector

     

    Education to bachelor degree standard (MBA, or other advanced degree strongly desired) combined with written and verbal mastery of English is required. Fluency in a second European language would be advantageous, as the research's geographical scope will be European.  Good computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint are necessary.

    The position is located in Milan, or London, (particularly strong candidates we will also consider other European locations where  IDC has significant presence). In due course, the role will involve some travel, predominately in Europe but occasionally to other regions.
