    IDC is seeking to hire a Director for its Telecom and IT Services Program, to be based out of the Dubai office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to spearhead IDC's market analysis and advisory services that are delivered to telecommunication and IT services providers in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region.

    About the Telecom and IT Services Program

    The Telecom and IT Services Program develops and delivers market analysis, advisory and consulting to telecommunication providers, multi-national IT services companies and local / regional system integrators and service providers covering technology areas such core telecom and connectivity services, cloud, mobility, the Internet of Things (IoT), managed services, datacenter services, security services, outsourcing, system integration services, business process outsourcing (BPO), and business consulting services, to name a few.

    The Program comprises a team of market analysts who deliver advisory on market opportunity, market entry, portfolio strategy, competitive strategy and other such areas.


    • Manage and grow the Telecom and IT Services Program in the Middle East, Turkey & Africa region by developing new solutions and creating business opportunities with clients.
    • Develop thought leadership on emerging technologies such as 5G, SDN/NFV, cloud, IoT, security services, datacenter and managed services, to name a few.
    • Deliver actionable advice and recommendations to C-level stakeholders at telecommunication providers and IT services firms, in areas such as business strategy and planning, portfolio strategy, competitive strategy and go to market strategy, and emerge as a trusted advisor to them.
    • Oversee the work of a geographically distributed team of experienced market analysts, guiding and mentoring them throughout. Review and sign-off of the output of the team including client presentations, reports, data trackers, whitepapers, custom project deliverables, etc.
    • Speak / present at client workshops and technology conferences as a thought leader on key technology market trends and developments.


    • At least 12 years of experience in the ICT sector, ideally with telecommunication providers and/or large IT services firms, with significant experience in senior strategy/planning or product/service portfolio, consulting, or market intelligence roles, with exposure to the telecommunications sector.
    • Good understanding of the telecommunications and IT services industry in the Middle East and Africa region.
    • A passion for technology and a natural inclination to follow, analyze and comment on latest trends and developments
    • Strong research and analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
    • Ability to work in a very agile and highly collaborative environment.
    • Strong people management skills. Experience of managing a multi-cultural team of at least 10 high quality professionals.
    • Ability to engage with C-level executives.
    • A Master’s degree from a reputed university with strong academic record at all levels
    • High-value personal qualities - resourceful, responsible, tenacious, independent, self-confident, high energy, etc.
    • Excellent English communication skills – oral, written and presentation skills.
    • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and similar software
    • Willingness to travel (up to 25%)
