IDC’s European Channels & Alliances Research team is looking for a new member to join us as a Research Analyst based in either Copenhagen, London or Prague.



Our new colleague will take on a key role in a growing part of the business that’s focused strongly on indirect vendor revenue data, indirect market splits by partners types, indirect market forecasts and market surveys. Specifically, he or she will be responsible for:

  • Modelling of indirect data splits across all IDC technology lines for the European Channels and Alliances program
  • Manage indirect vendor revenue tracking process for European Channels & Alliance team in collaboration with the central software and infrastructure tracker teams and with input from other analysts in IDC
  • Be the central point of contact for consulting projects that have strong data elements, including survey-based data and total addressable market projects
  • Conduct research on vendors, channel partners (including distributors) and ISVs using financial results, other web-based sources, surveys, and interviews with the channels, vendors, distributors and related market participants.
  • Publish research documents on data market trends in the indirect channel in Europe.
  • Develop new and insightful approaches to analyse and present market sizing data, vendor revenues and survey results. Critically, this will lead to the development of new products and tools for customers.
  • Participate in, or organize if necessary, regular research meetings with contributing analysts to set priorities, collect feedback, and review progress.
  • Support sales inquiries by providing materials, joining client calls, or attending sales meetings


Our new colleague will have a good understanding of market, economic and statistical analysis, the ability to detect trends and patterns of information, and will like finding ways to present this in an easily consumable manner. You will have great attention to detail and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. We're certainly looking for intellectual rigor, but also for creativity. You might well have a degree, which include Mathematics, Economics or Statistics, although these are not mandated. An interest in the IT industry, and specifically the channel, would definitely be advantageous, as would experience of the industry.

You will have good listening skills, critical thinking abilities and curiosity relating to the developments in the IT markets. Good written and verbal English skills are required and fluency in a second European language would be advantageous. You will join a highly motivated, experienced and collaborative team of analysts so must be a strong team player who is happy to have multiple tasks on the go.
