IDC EMEA is actively looking for an experienced public sector Senior Account Manager with good contacts within the European Commission DGs and European agencies and institutions and a background in IT-related business development & sales in the public sector.

The role is based in Brussels, with some traveling in Europe.



The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Identify and develop new opportunities for IDC within the defined territory
  • Map the main stakeholders and their requirements identifying opportunities for IDC’s offerings
  • Communicate IDC’s Value Proposition, Portfolio and skills to a senior management audience
  • Build trusted relationships across the range of stakeholders to maximize opportunities and client satisfaction
  • Ability to relate the customer requirements to IDC’s organization and help IDC staff to satisfy them
  • Knowledge and understanding of ICT markets dynamics and trends to be able to have a dialogue with CIOs and understand their needs and challenges
  • Work independently but in close collaboration with a dedicated client team
  • Establish strong relationships with IDC colleagues internationally to build and maintain high levels of service quality
  • Manage efficiently within a context of tight deadlines and high pressure


  • Proven track record dealing with, and selling to, C-level IT executives, IT Managers and senior public sector managers
  • A strong ability to uncover real client requirements and success factors
  • Solution and outcome focused with a drive to “get the job done”
  • A focus on service quality and customer satisfaction and the ability to become the customer advocate within the IDC organization
  • A self-starter and a builder – willing to help define and build the future of the business together with senior IDC management
  • Familiarity with European contracts management and quality control processes
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must
  • Knowledge of a second European language (particularly French or German) would be advantageous
  • Appropriate academic credentials
