IDC Energy Insights is seeking a senior member for its internationally-recognized European research team responsible for Utilities research and advisory.
This Research Manager will have responsibility for research in the areas of utilities digital transformation, customer experience strategies, asset operations, IT and OT strategies. This is a relatively public role with many client-facing and industry-facing responsibilities.
The individual is required to deliver compelling research projects, manage customer interactions, and proactively grow the practice through successful engagement with all client types - technology vendors and technology buyers - that make up the utilities ecosystem.
The Research Manager personally contributes to the success of the practice and is heavily involved in consulting and custom research. Additional responsibilities include managing the research agenda, writing research reports, helping with marketing activities to raise industry visibility, conducting business development, providing sales support, and acting effectively as a client advisor.
The desired individual has 5-8 years of experience working for the utility industry in market research and/or consulting. Work experience in the utility sector or within an ICT company dealing with utilities is highly valued. Additionally, the following skills and attributes are desired:
Fluency in written and oral English is a must. Fluency in a second or third European language would be advantageous. The role will involve travel, predominately in Europe but also to other regions. Preferable job location will be London (U.K.) and Milan (Italy).
